Redang Beach and Sumptious Dinner @ Restaurant Shuang Le Le [Sekinchan Part 3]

After spending time at the paddy field, we went to the Ah Hua Mango to buy some yummy mangoes before departing to Redang Beach. Apparently, one of the Chinese dramas had this scene inside. I am not too sure as I have left the TV fanatic self behind ever since I left university.

The beach is rather short and narrow. There was also a crowd in front of the 許願樹 (wishing tree). You can pray in the temple, donate and get a ribbon. You are meant to throw the ribbon up high and make sure it hangs at the tree.

We went for dinner right after we left Redang beach. William's sister recommended Restaurant Shuang Le Le at Tanjong Karang. We followed waze and drove to Tanjong Karang. There is a distance from the main road to the restaurant, where two of us were a little frightened as it was getting dark soon and the restaurant was still nowhere to be seen. Fret not! Just keep driving and you will see the signboard.

The restaurant looks a bit run down.

We were being greedy to order 4 dishes. Surprisingly, we finished all of them. I didn't have any rice and kept all the space in my stomach for yummy dishes.

Kangkung Belacan, RM6

Kam Heong Cuttle Fish, RM15

Steam La La, RM 15 (1kg)

Fried Mantis Prawn with Salt, RM10 (RM2.50 for one)

Overall, the food was good. Price is super affordable. We didn't have any crabs nor prawns as William is allergic to those.

Sekinchan 1 Day Trip [Sekinchan Part 1]

The boy decided to take leave on Monday since Tuesday is a public holiday. I contemplated as most of my leaves this year are spent overseas and taking leaves randomly is not a habit of mine. Eventually, I gave in and applied also to keep each other companied.

We were still undecided of where to go the morning before. On Monday itself, we woke up around 9 ish instead of leaving the house at 7. As usual, the piggy two. Went for breakfast near Aman Suria area and did some chores. Arrived at Sekinchan around 2 ish and drove around aimlessly.

Stumbled upon this fruit farm with lots of Air Jambu and chilled there for a while since the weather is scorching hot! Ordered a drink each - loh hon goh and sha li zhi. Both are equally refreshing. So tempted to bring some back to KL.

After that, I drove around aimlessly since he was on the phone. The green scenery is so eye soothing when you leave in the city everyday and face the laptop everyday. Best way to de-stress not knowing what to do when every second we live is just thinking of the next item to be done.

We decided to stop by the rice factory right in front the paddy field with the afternoon weather. Bought an ice cream to taste since all the tourists there were eating. Nothing amazing. When I first walked in, I was stunned by people carrying bags and bags of rice. Guess what... I ended up being one of them buying lots of rice.

You can also have a tour on how rice grain is produced upstairs. Tickets can be bought at RM4 per person at the counter. Most of the people didn't go for this. As for me, there is no harm doing so as you will get a small packet of rice at the end of the tour. You may redeem this at the ticket counter. This packet of rice is equivalent to the value of your ticket. Technically, you just go for a free tour increasing your knowledge by a tiny bit!

Next up is paddy field photos with my face in it everywhere. Such a good scene to camwhore and take lots of portraits!

August 31 2014

Little Red Riding Hood on An Adventure

Done lots of traveling while I was in university and I am proud to say that I still continue to explore and see the world at a pretty rapid pace.

2013 - Bangkok, Laos

2014 - Krabi, Surabaya, United Kingdom

2015 (all planned out!) - Korea, Nepal, Taiwan

I love to live my life. Being passionate about things you do makes you a happy girl.

Monkey Temple [Krabi Part 6]

As part of our Day 3 tour, we followed the tour guide to visit Monkey Temple with lots of monkeys at the entrance.

We went to the night market at Aonang to shop for souvenirs since our 4 days 3 nights trip was going to end the next day. However, Aonang night market was pretty short and we ended up at the popular touristy street to buy souvenirs again.

White Water Rafting in Krabi [Krabi Part 5]

My first time doing white water rafting was when we were in Krabi. Pretty short journey and just get ready to get wet. Excitement. Not too bad of an experience. Much better than kayaking when we were in Laos last year. Kayaking for 10 km is not joke. Energy draining and make a person like me go berserk. I have no patience in things that I can't master.

Take note to wear your safetykit properly.

When you fall into the river, try to float and not stand, as you might stand on sharp stones.

When your boat hits the stone, you got to jump at the other side so you provide the inertia for the boat to move forward.

Interesting experience!

Sunny Day Out at Zakopane, Poland [Poland Part 4]

One of the happy places that I have been in this world, Zakopane, Poland. It's colourful. Not too sure it is because we only got to see the quiet town, Aushwitz Birkenau Camp and Wielizka Saltmine, which are all pretty solemn.

The weather was good for a day out to Zakopane.

Just a few miles from the Slovak border in south central Poland, Zakopane is a resort town in the Tatra Mountains, popular with skiers in winter and with hikers and climbers year-round.

Photos galore! I used to look much younger with shorter hair too.
