As Olympic is approaching, I believe there are more pickpockets in and around London eyeing on the tourists. I left my flat at wee hours in the morning with my backpack and bid goodbye to the pretty room that I have been staying for the past eight months. My lovely flatmate stayed awake the whole night just to say goodbye. It was very touching indeed. Upon arriving at the train station, a creepy guy trailed behind me until I collected my train tickets. I did realise and walked as quick as I could. To the very least, I didn't look like a lost cat.
So the journey started and us, 2 girls were ready for a good holiday! We didn't do much homework on what to see and eat merely 'cos we were lazy and there were so many countries to be covered.
All we knew about Belgium was waffles, chocolate and mussels.
Our first stop, Brussels didn't leave us with good impression. The city felt rather dodgy. We also came into some cold replies when asked about directions and where-to-go. The hotel receptionist wasn't helpful at all. Having been to many European cities, certain touristy things have also became less of our interests.
Grand Place is a UNESCO world heritage site, which is also the central square of Brussels. The city town hall is among the buildings.
One of the random stores that we went in nearby Grand Place that sells lots of pretty candy and chocolate boxes.
A lady, speaking minimal English pointed us to a direction when we asked for local restaurants. The street is filled by restaurants selling the exact same food, using similar photos to advertise. Typical touristy area. We went into a random restaurant. Surprisingly, one of the waiters spoke amazingly fluent English. In the end, we were told that he used to work in London and hence why.
The food was okay.
We left Grand Place and came to a shopping avenue.
A beautiful park nearby.
